Abstract

Endocrine diseases during pregnancy present unique challenges due to physiological changes and potential impacts on maternal and fetal health. This review article provides comprehensive guidelines for managing endocrine disorders in pregnant individuals. It encompasses pre-conception counseling, monitoring, medication management, and risk assessment. Special focus is given to specific endocrine disorders such as gestational diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, hyperprolactinemia, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, gonadal disorders, parathyroid disorders, and pancreatic disorders. A multidisciplinary approach involving obstetricians, endocrinologists, and other specialists is emphasized to optimize care. Pharmacological considerations, lifestyle modifications, and non-pharmacological interventions are discussed in detail. Additionally, fetal and neonatal considerations, postpartum care, and avenues for future research are highlighted. By adhering to these guidelines, healthcare providers can effectively navigate the complexities of managing endocrine diseases during pregnancy, ultimately improving outcomes for both mother and child.
